NeNe Leakes recalls 'getting nothing' for the first few seasons of 'RHOA.'

Although the current cast of RHOA seem to be getting paid quite well for putting some of the more intimate details of their lives on blast, the same can't be said for those who appeared in earlier seasons. In July 2023, NeNe Leakes, an original RHOA cast member, sat down with former RHOA producer Carlos King to discuss RHOA pay.

NeNe admitted to Carlos, “The first two or three seasons, we weren’t getting nothing, honey.” She also said, “We filmed [Season 1], we knocked it out of the park, and we didn’t get anything." To clarify, the cast did get paid, but it wasn't much. According to NeNe, she only collected $10,000 for Season 1, which took three months to film. By the time Season 2 had rolled around, NeNe says her salary was only bumped up to $50,000.

Fed up with the low pay compared to the high viewer ratings, NeNe says she and other cast members joined forced and demanded more money. By Season 3, she would collect $100,000 (possibly even $150,000), and Season 4 is when the real money came rolling in.
